Good Morning Craig:

Thank you for sending in your 2nd Year Tarion Form. I opened the attachment easily, printed off; it’s very clear and clean. I have not had a chance to enter the form into our system yet but I did read through it quickly.

Many of the items do not fall into the Tarion 2 yr warranty. Please read each numbered section heading; this describes what issues should be entered. You can also go to the Tarion website @ www.tarion.com for “new homeowner’s” then link to the CPG or Construction Performance Guidelines for explanations of what is warrantable in the 2nd year of new home ownership. It will also clearly describe a Major structural defect. You will note that a door that constantly rubs is not in this category and may be caused by higher humidity levels in a home. This is the homeowner’s responsibility to monitor and adjust.

For your convenience I have included an attachment for the CPG; a complete edition you can read through at your leisure. A very informative document that defines specific issues and warranty periods. After I have entered  your form, I will give you a phone call and we can go over the list together. This will be on Monday Dec. 17th in the afternoon. Have a great day.

Regards,

Subject: 2 year tarion form

Hello,

here's a copy of the two-year form I submitted to Tarion today requesting corrections to some significant issues, most urgently the insetting of the windows in the basement. I look forward to repairs occurring as soon as possible as there is a lot of draught coming through and at times moisture and the results are a significant impact on heating costs. Please let me know if you have any difficulty with the attachment.

Thank you.
